Custom made Adirondack Chairs.
For a long time l've wanted to make my own set ot Adirondack Chairs, I finally got round to it a few weeks ago and I'm really pleased with how they turned out
I used English Yew which has a lovely pale pinkish colour with loads of character in the arain. I finished them with an external varnish that doesn't change the natural colour of the Yew and keeps the appearance flat rather than shiny
These chairs are extremely comfortable, as soon as you sit in them you want to go to sleep! This design was created in 1903 by Thomas Lee while he was or holiday in the Adirondack mountains, they have been hugely popular ever since
These chairs have a separate foot rest which aqair has been perfectly designed for the ultimate comfort,
These Adirondack Chairs are to go in the qarden of The Mooph Boat that I'm finishina off. If vou are interested in havina a pair or one commissioned then drop me a line.
I made this Driftwood style Coffee Table for a customer a few years back, He had seen a similar one I had when I was at Stockbridge and wanted a circular one made to order.
Obviously finding a large piece of Driftwood suitable for a Coffee Table is near on impossible so I set about creating my own take on what I had been asked for.
I used a cross section of a Sequoia tree that was approx 1.5 metres in diameter, this wood is very pink so I had my work cut out! I spent 3 days texturising the timber then added a sunbleached finish to it which I sealed with a flat waterproof varnish. The legs were made out of rustic weathered Oak and the finished result was exactly as I had wanted.
Luckily my customer was happy with the Coffee Table and it sits beautifully in his home not far from my workshop.

The Mooph Boat is nearly ready!
After almost 3 years of finishing touches The Mooph is almost ready for bookings!
The Mooph was featured on George Clarke's Amazing Spaces 3 years ago and we have been trying to find the time to get her completely ready for bookings ever since!
Rescued from the fire pit in a marina in Hampshire The Mooph has been transformed into a beautiful rustic space nestled amongst the woodland in Hampshire, stones throw from the River Test.
Everything we've used to restore her is reclaimed, all of the rustic furniture inside has been made by myself and I've really enjoyed using her as a furniture showroom for the past few years when customers have visited and needed inspiration for their own homes
I'm hoping to take booking at the end of spring so if you're interested in staying in The Mooph then please subscribe to the mailing list on the website and l'l contact you with further information, www.themoophboat.co.uk
